hello You beautiful soul!
I'm Loagan Elizabeth
No matter how you ended up here reading this, I want to share with you that there is hope. Our bodies are innately designed to heal itself...all we need to do is get out of our own way and create the space for this natural healing to take place. My approach is drastically different than what you may find in this consumer driven, "green washing", age of operating in not only business, but also many parts of the holistic world. I prefer a less is more approach, a process of eliminating and detoxifying mindsets, habits, and products that are bombarding our systems. Through this elimation, we provide space to decompress, re-balance, and re-member who we are, why we are here, and what vitality feels like in order to walk out our earthly assignments, by honoring and stewarding our God-given gifts to be a light to others and serve them well.
I was a horse woman before I ever became a holistic woman. My first passion in life, my first career, the majority of my thoughts, actions and dreams revolved around horses. Understanding and relating to horses was the first gift I discovered that my Creator blessed me with, and I have spent a good portion of my life serving them, loving them and being a good steward of them. While my story from horse woman to holistic woman is a lengthy one (to which I'll share over time), it was through this journey that I discovered another calling on my life to serve people through a holistic approach, to which the horses delivered me to (over and over and over again until I finally got it).
Horses are still very much a part of who I am and while I am no longer in the professional space as an equestrian, I give back to the horse by caring for my geriatric horses, and providing a peaceful and nurturing retirement home for another one as each elderly horse passes on. It brings me so much joy to do this.
There is a saying I admire by Wild Horse Sanctuary that says "Horses carry the wisdom of healing in their hearts, and they offer it to any human who possesses the humility to listen". I have certainly found this to be true and their grounding presence is nothing short of a gift from God for us human souls.
The horses led me to the holistic world....

If you haven't already gathered this about me, I am a deeply spiritual person. My heart belongs to Jesus, my Savior, and I am humbled every day by God's love, mercy, and grace over my life as a daughter of the King. Because Jesus is in my heart, the way I express my gratitiude, worldview and whom I give credit to when talking about creation, healing, herbs, and the land will be a reflection of this. I understand that the holistic space, especially in herbalism, has a strong new age presence, which is just fine with me if that is your belief.
Many great holistic practiotioners whom I deeply respect and have been blessed to know teach from this worldview. I am friends with many beautiful souls who have different beliefs, and my hope is that even if you and I have different worldviews, we can still be friends and be respectful of the fact that we are both human beings walking through an earthly experience, doing the best we can with what we know.
As a Christian, some of my favorite conversations are around spirituality, miracles, and how God blesses us all with individual gifts to serve others and be stewards of creation. I love to go deep in conversation and it is such a delight to hear stories of how people have uncovered their gifts and stepped into their soul's work. I especially appreciate learning how different cultures express this, so if you meet me in person and come from a different culture than myself, don't be surprised at my genuine curiosity in asking about your heritage and traditions. My heritage has strong Cherokee roots and one of my favorite past-times is learning from indegenious elders and studying the healing methods of my ancestors, you may recognize some of this way of communicating within my work as well.
For what comes out of one's mouth is a reflection of what resides in one's heart....
There's a little bit about me, whether we met at the Gathered Sage booth at the farmer's market, in passing, or somewhere out here in this world wide web, I am grateful for your time and curiosity in learning about what I do and my heart behind it. I am constantly growing and studying in different areas of the holistic world and have many plans for Gathered Sage as the years go by, so if you'd like to be in the loop as updates occur then please do join my e-newsletter.
I am not currently active on any of the Meta platforms (Facebook/Instagram) and have personally been off of social media for 5 years now and anytime I have attempted to re-enter that world for the sake of "proper business practices in the modern era", my soul is deeply disturbed, therefor, I listen to that intuition and I don't do it. So, the only places considered some sort of social media that you will find me is the Youtube channel and Pinterest (I do have @gathered_sage on Instagram if you want to follow for the rare post over there). Otherwise, all of my work is posted here through the blog and through the e-newsletter.
Everything here is done at the speed of me, the speed of human-being. Nothing in my work is edited or prompted by AI, I prefer the intellegience of God's creation: human-beings, no matter how "slow" or "inefficent" this may be in "comparison" (I say that lightly). With that said, if my work seems lengthy, or lacking proper grammar and structure, that's because it is real, and it is me, flaws and all. But I promise you, you will feel the heart behind my work and the sincerity in my words.
With gratitude,
Loagan Elizabeth
